My Gryff needs to take an antibiotic. I think I saw many months ago that there are a few medicines/antibiotics that were not good for sugar cats.

The vet just prescribed, Flagyl or Metronidazole.

Thank you.

My vet usually gives me the "chicken flavored" (it's not, it tastes nasty and makes Squallie drool like a madman!) metronidazole, but last time he accidentally gave me a sugary one. Make sure yours doesn't smell like fruit or candy, and isn't sticky, and you should be fine. :)

hahah, Ok, thank you. Yes, Gryff just shook a lot out of his mouth. He did not like that at allll. Ugh. Got to keep our babies safe! Thank you for responding. :)

Lol, it took me a long time to work out how to get more of it in my cat than on me! Squallie would spit it everywhere! He doesn't spit it out much anymore, but it does make him drool profusely. Apparently it has a very bitter taste, in spite of any of the flavorings they add to it.

I'm so used to giving him shots, that I'm out of practice giving oral meds! I'll try to squirt it way more down his throat tomorrow. These cats are so silly.

I also was able to get B12 metholcgobalamin shots. The vet I had today said sure, no problem. Last month I asked the other vet there and she said they don't do that. lol anyway, I'll stick with this other vet then. I think it'll be better to give shot than to not know for sure if he ate all of the zobeline, I was so glad to have learned of Zobaline on here!

I LOVE this photo of Squallie !

I took him for an unpleasant vet trip and now oral meds and shot! He's looking at me like I've turned on him!!! lol His eyes saying, You used to be my person!!! hahah
