Good morning, I have been giving Baby Fish Oil, but have seen Salmon Oil at the finer Pet Food Stores too, which is better?

I tried that fish oil in the pump bottle for Smokey and Mr. Kitty.

They refused to eat any food that I put it on. You would think they would
like it but it really tastes awful. I tasted it myself.

Also, fish oil goes rancid quickly in any bulk container. I like to use
fish-oil capsules, poke with an ice pick and squeeze the contents out.
One capsule will 'treat' 2-3 meals (2-3 cats).

The capsules stay fresh a long time.

The oil from the fish (regardless which) should have been pressed from the muscle meat only. That's the best fish oil.

(I live in a fish country, and especially ocean fish since I'm only one hour away from the North Sea on the west coast. But we have warning recommendations for eating too much fish since they carry higher concentration of poisonous things in them from all the pollution.)

Salmon vs fish oil: I am by no means an expert in this area but from my limited reading, it seems as if fish oil may be less contaminated than salmon oil because fish oil comes from smaller fish that are lower in the food chain and, therefore, may be lower in impurities.

Read the labels and look for the term "molecularly distilled" or "mirco-distilled".

This (salmon versus fish oil) is an area where everyone is free to do their own research and come to their own conclusions.
