I'm very lucky as Murphy is incredibly relaxed and easy going. In the past few weeks I've given him insulin, he's not noticed that I've injected. I'm worried as tonight he was low (for him) at 15.4.
I gave him his usual 1u, but he was sleepy and I didn't want to disturb him, so I gave him his injection in his side. I made the usual tent, but he yelped when I injected him. I don't *think* it was into muscle as the tent felt the same.
If it was muscle, do I need to worry given his bg was low for him? I think I've heard the effects of insulin are more when intra muscular?
Thank you,
Amy.

I would assume you probably hit a nerve. Yes, shots given into the muscle can have a different effect than shots given subcutaeous.

It's already 3 hours since you posted, but I would go ahead and get another test, just to see what's going on.

Ahh ok, a nerve makes sense. He was fine through the night, still dropping quite a bit.
He was 15.6 this morning, so I gave him his 1u and no yelp :):cat:
Thank you for you reply.
