I DID IT! It went pretty smooth and fairly easy and I used the default lancets and not the extra .31s I bought- ok now here’s the thing Maji came out at 96 OMG so is t that like a little low to dose? So I called the vet and she said NOT to dose tonight BUT she wants me to calibrate the control or do the control... I’m looking through the book for how to do the control...

Sorta excited!!!

WOO HOO! Good job.

A bottle of control solution may have come with your meter. You just shake it then squirt a drop or two of it on a test strip (on the side where the little dot sticks out.. just like when doing the blood test). When you get the reading, press the C button to flag it as a control solution test so the results will not be included in the averages the meter shows you when you turn it on. Your test strip vial should give you the range of numbers for the control solution - if your results are within that range, your meter and strips are working correctly.

Oops I screwed up and did not press the C for control so I will document this in the little book...

So basically she coulda got dosed with bgl at 96 and possibly gone hypoglycemic... if it hadn’t been for you guys encouraging me I prolly would have procrastinated- thank god for all of your encouragement to test for safety!!!

There are some cats that are diet controlled, or that require very little insulin, from the get go..... Hopefully your cat is one of them. :)

Well your video really gave me the encouragement to use the default lancets and how your kitty was so mellow with it - it really helps to see how this works...I’m just so grateful!!!
