Hi everyone
Taking Gem to the vet tomorrow for follow up blood work. Hopefully there will be some indication that the trilostane is having a positive impact on her cortisol levels.

We continue to see some hopeful signs in Gem - she will jump on the couch to sit next to one of us, which she hadn't done in a while. Appetite continues to be strong.

Unfortunately she had another skin tear, and this one is the back of her neck in a spot where she can reach both by licking and scratching with her back paw. I've had to bandage her up a little while it's still so open and raw to keep her from making it worse. She doesn't love the bandage though it's kinda funny to watch her try and get out of it. Sometimes she is successful in loosening it up. The older, large wound continues to heal (it is scabbed over most of it) though I don't really see fur growing back, and I suspect any further improvement won't come til the Cushing's meds start healing her from within.

I continue to test her urine when I can, and have gotten some more negatives for glucose, though they are sporadic so I really haven't used them to adjust her dose. I've started testing her BG, though it is really really sporadic. I try to do it when she seems calm, and I give it one or two tries - if I don't manage to get enough blood, I give up so I am not struggling with her. These numbers have also been all over the map.

I've updated her spreadsheet with the numbers I do have. I also added in the urine tests, color coded to try and match the test strip colors. The time I put it in is when I tested it, which may or may not be when she actually peed, and also, I realize, reflects what happened from one void to the next…so I know it doesn't really correlate to the shot times. But it was the best I could do to get the data on there. If anyone wants to have a peek at her SS and see if anything jumps out at them, feel free! I will share my results with the vet, but I think this is kind of beyond their scope of ability. I think I will ask them to run a fructosamine so we can have an idea of what's been going on the past few weeks.

Anyway, good healing thoughts for Gem, and I will post back tomorrow after her vet visit.

It's good to hear that she is showing signs of feeling well, and that the first tear is healing. I'm sorry about the new skin tear.

I don't have any insights about her SS and dosing, but I am definitely sending good thoughts for her visit to the vet tomorrow.

Thanks for the update and better news about Gem. I'm glad she seems to be feeling better, but sorry about the new tear. Sending prayers for a great vet visit and results.
