Hi Erica and Welcome to the best place you never wanted to be! I am glad you found us as there is a lot of knowledge and help here.
You will save a ton of money once you make the switch to a human meter. The Wallmart Relion meter is very inexpensive and the test strips are only $9/50
Paula gave you some info on following SLGS and the reduction taken when using that method is 90. If you were to follow TR, you could raise the dose every 3 days and the reduction point while using a AT2 meter would be under 68 . Once you switch to the human meter doing TR would be under 50. I throw that out there as a comparison for you to see that TR allows Ori to be in green numbers a bit longer which allows the pancreas to heal.
With diabetic cats, we raise the dose in increments of 0.25 dose so we don't go over the best dose. Sometimes too much insulin can look like not enough because of bouncing. With human diabetics the dose is raised in increments of 2 units since our body weight is so much greater.
With the red start this morning, I suspect that Ori went lower last night and is bouncing this AM. Most cats do go lower during the PM, so it's important to get a few test in during the PM cycle, at least before you go to bed. A great test to get to know how the cycle could go is to get one at +2. If that number is lower than the pre shot number it could indicate an active cycle requiring more test to make sure he is safe.
On 11/23 PM cycle you reduce to 1.75 , but then the next morning you lowered in again to 1.50. Being consistent with holding the dose unless they earn a reduction is important for the depot to build. I suspect that 1.75 is going to be a good dose for Ori . Gather as much data as you can and in one week do a curve so we can see how low that dose is taking him.
Great that you are feeding him 4 times a day. Smaller frequent meals are good for our Sugar Cats. Just be sure not to feed him within 2 hours of test time as the food will give him a bump up and inflate the numbers. I feed Bubba 6 small meals a day and I always coordinated his test times to not be near those feeding.
Keep posting and asking questions as we are here to help.
