This evening I saw something called Fancy Feast Appetizers for Cats...has anyone tried them for an occasional treat, or know any carb info about them? The ingredients look to be just meat and broth, but I haven't been able to dig up too much info/feedback on them.

Many thanks,

Kate & Leo

There has been some discussion on these in the board. I believe consensus is that they are ok as a treat and are low carb but aren't nutritionally balanced to be fed as a meal. Try googling "fdmb" and "fancy feast appetizers"

I've been using them....
I think I remember a discussion about them when I first got there that they were no carb. They just aren't nutritionally complete as
Wendy said.
I use them ever so often when my cat isn't wanting to eat what's served.... and sometimes I mix it in with her food too.

I haven't noticed it affecting her numbers at all. It seems to be much better quality than the canned food, just expensive.

I had the caregiver give one every day when we were gone for a week at Christmas just so I'd know she would eat something if she wasn't happy.

My 3 love the fish ones - of course!
I use them sometimes as a treat or to hide a pill in - I mashed Honey's zobaline in them as well as I knew she would scoff the lot - but I only used about 5th tub at a time.
I also sent them in with Monster when he had his I 131 and had to be away for 4 days - to make sure he ate something.

Petsmart sometimes have them on offer and Walmart has them for around $1.25
There's a local petstore chain in CA that sell them for $1.
