Good morning, Baby is primarily on a raw diet of Rabbit, supplemented by Nature's Variety & Wellness canned. She does enjoy Duck Duck Goose by Stella & Chewy , although I do not feed her this exclusively & it does have Taurine in it, I would like to add some to it too.. since this one is made for Dogs & I suspect needs more. I am thinking of adding 100mg, does anybody see any issue?

**Also, will any quality Taurine supplement do? (Whole Foods, Vitamin Shoppe, GNC) or does it have to be specifically marketed to cats?

I can't answer you on the amount of taurine to use, but I do think it's ok to use any brand of taurine you want. I found some through vitacost that I like (Ok I like that website :) ) and it appeared directed to humans, so, I guess both the cats and I can use it.

taurine is an amino acid, ie protein building block, and that is its generic name, so you should be fine getting it from any reputable source.

I like iHerb because they also have links to alternative medicine info for human conditions (some, but not all, of which may apply to cats, etc).

Nicole it might be interesting to find out but when I spoke with the folks at Nature's Variety about their canned foods... the dog and cat food is actually the same! :o ohmygod_smile I was prompted to ask when I checked their website and the ingredient lists were the same. The food is actually formulated for cats. You may want to ask Stella & Chewy before you add supplements.
