Kind of an odd question but I have an oddball cat :p Can insulin and other meds cause feline acne? Leroy has developed acne on his chin since starting insulin and budesonside. It's just black specks (so far) which are easily removed with a comb. I'm wiping his chin off with witch hazel. The cats use ceramic bowls that are washed after every meal. Food hasn't changed. Dish soap hasn't changed. Anything that goes into Leroy's tummy has the potential to cause the most random reaction if not an IBD flare up

The vet is aware of the acne and doesn't have any further suggestions on treatment apart from what I'm currently doing.

I know how to treat feline acne, just looking to see if there might be a connection with meds potentially causing the acne :) Or we can just blame Leroy for being an oddball :p

My Neko was on insulin and budesonide (and a whole lot other meds) with no acne. As you can see, her white chin would have made it very obvious. I also used ceramic or metal bowls and fed raw.

I have one cat (Zuri, not diabetic) who has particularly sensitive skin. Even with stainless bowls and raw fed she occasionally breaks out on her chin. I can’t speak to the medications as being a cause… with her, it just happens sometimes.
