Feeding kittens?

My diabetic cat (who has been off insulin for the last month as diet seems to control her sugar now) is on an almost completely wet diet of Friskies (her choice-she was a dry food eater before and Friskies was the only wet food she would touch.)
Recently I got two four month old kittens. The breeder had them on Royal Canin wet and dry but admitted that they didn't seem to like either. I kept the kittens on a limited amount of RC dry but tried to switch them to Evo wet. They eat it alright but a few hours after eating they vomit up the carrot and tomato flake bits from the Evo. The rest of the food is digested-its just the vegetable bits. I tried a different wet kitten food and it was the same story- vomited up vegetable bits several hours later but the bulk of the food was digested. They wouldn't eat the 100 percent meat foods like Taste of the Wild and prefer a pate.
To make matters more confusing, they sneaked into the diabetic cat's realm and ate her Friskies with no vomiting afterwards.
Now I'm really confused! Friskies??? Based on what I now know about cat food I would like to get them off the dry eventually but what wet food should I replace it with?
Any suggestions for a kitten-appropriate pate with no vegetable bits?
Feedback would be appreciated.

When I adopted Myrrdin and Duvessa at 3 months old I just started them on the regular Friskies pate that everyone one else here was eating and a year and a half later I have two stunningly beautiful and healthy cats. I just fed them slightly more than I did the older cats since they as all kittens are high active. Neither have had any health issues and are doing great. So if the kittens like the Friskies personally I would just give them that, maybe slightly more because of activity level. Or like I did, just free feed it to them so they can eat as much or as little as their bodies desire.
