Hi all! Haven't posted in a bit because of the hurricane! I live in Savannah Ga, and I'm happy to say we've made it through the storm intact. I had to live at the hospital for about 3 days to take care of patients and my stubborn BF (who is Puerto Rican and kept saying a category 1 is nothing from what he grew up with) refused to evacuate so he stayed in my apartment with biscuit and fat cat through the storm, but I am thankful for this because he stepped up and learned how to feed fat cat and give him his shots. The power just came back after being out for 4 days, and I can say that my apartment and everything we own is completely unharmed. Today fat cat had his best sugar ever! He was 164 at +6 this is thanks to a steady increase in his prozinc dose, this BS was achieved from 4.6 units, I'll see what his pre shoots are, he may end up need the whole 5 units as his vet originally predicted we would be up to, but I think I'll leave him at 4.6 for a few days, all pre-shoots have been in the low to mid 300s for him! May not sound like much but it's great for him!! Anyone else have to weather the storm?

Glad you and yours all made it safely through the storm! :):):) We are farther up the East Coast so we were spared.

I'm so glad to hear that you, BF and kitties are OK. It's good that the power is back on. I'm sure we will hear from more storm survivors as time goes by and things dry out. I've been wondering how people on the board were doing. The TV reports of the storm looked scary.

We are good here in central NC (Raleigh), some flooding and power outages still, but nothing to complain about by comparison. But you don't have to go even 45-60 minutes SE or E from here to see total devastation near Fayetteville, Princeville or Wilson.

Today was absolutely *beautiful* out, sunny, 70 degrees, yet you had to remember that the Tar and Neuse Rivers just keep rising and rising such that it is still getting WORSE in some places south and east. So sad. And the videos on the news of the ASPCA and others rescuing animals that were left behind... Simply heartbreaking.

Worried about you, @Grayson & Lu -- are you guys ok in Wilson?

Thanks all! Haven't responded because it's been crazy at work! Fat cats blood sugar is 148 right now! I'm so excited ! That's a +5 number and he got just over 4 units like 4.2 of prozinc.

I'm pretty sure he's actually watching the tv right now, anyone else's cats like the tv? He's shown particular interest when they put the crabs on tv during the deadliest catch and when there are insect shows on animal planet.

We were watching a PBS program that had some kittens crying. One of our female cats jumped up and ran around the TV, hunting for the kittens. What was really strange was that she was spayed when she was young and had never been around kittens.
