Hi Group,

we just found out that our 10 year old tabby
May have abdominal cancer. We wont know until tomorrow when the blood and ultrasound are done. He has been looking rounder or fatter. The vet said x rays see internal fluid around organs, and she said that wasn't good. He. Had blood done one month ago and all was well so we never suspected this.

does this sound strange, and can a cancer spread that fast?

I am so sorry to hear this. Cats are very good at hiding any illness.
If the X-rays are showing free fluid in the abdomen, an ultrasound is needed.
My kitty Sheba presented with free fluid in the abdomen and had an ultrasound which showed she had pancreatic cancer. The only symptoms she had were an increase in her girth and a small decrease in appetite for a week or two.
I hope you get better news but it is better to know what is happening than not.
I will be thinking of you and hoping for good news:bighug::bighug::bighug:
