Went to Walmart for the first time in a few weeks... FF went down 8 cents a can... from 68 to 60. It is still 70 at Petsmart. Probably *still* more expensive than the USA.

But finally, I think I can afford to feed him FF. The Wellness was burning a hole through my pocket! Half a can of FF per feeding is just enough for him and 3 cans a day would be around $2 a day with tax included. I picked up about 10 cans of different flavors to find what he likes. (I already know the answer though, he likes them all)

Anyone else seen a price drop recently? (Canadians?)

How much were you paying for the Wellness? For the large 12.5oz cans I can get them for $2.50 each if I order a flat of 12 cans from a local shop. Same for the EVO 95%. I'm in Ontario.

I'll check walmart for FF price next time I'm there. At 60 cents per can by weight they'd be similar in price for me, and more food options is always good:).

$2.75 per can if I buy a case. So with HST a case is around $37. He was eating a can a day. I probably could have cut him back to 3/4 a can a day but it seems more watery and less dense than FF.

I started both our cats on FF this week after finding out our little girly girl is diabetic. So far the male isn't too sure he likes it, prefering to still munch his dry food, so I'm slowly changing him over. Our girly girl, seems to prefer the FF, thank goodness, she likes the classic chicken and classic tender beef. Neither one of them likes the classic turkey and giblets.

She is still eating very little of anything, but at least she is interested in it.

I'm in the US. If I buy them in a 24 pack, they cost me about 51 cents a can at the grocery store this way. Single cans, if I remember correctly are 58 cents a can at the grocery store. But unfortunately, there are also 8 cans of the turkey and giblets in the box. (didn't know they didn't like that flavor until buying the case)

I'll probably get the 24 pack at Petco from now on, as I can get the whole pack one flavor. They are a little more, at 55 cents a can right now. But it is still cheaper than donating 8 cans each time, because of not liking a flavor.

Ah... Ive never seen them actually sold by case, only the variety packs that have gravy stuff in them. I'm lucky that my cat is pretty much a garbage pail and eats everything. Next time I will ask if there's a discount for buying a whole case.

I believe Wellness is actually higher in calories than the FF, so it's possible you could get by on feeding less for the same caloric intake. I didn't check whether this is a reliable list, but it seems to line up with what I calculated when I was trying to figure out what to feed my kittens a few months back: http://www.petobesityprevention.com/wp- ... _Foods.pdf

Seems to indicate about 100 calories per can of the varieties of FF I was feeding, and about 120 for the same amount of the varieties of Wellness I use. Also the large can of Wellness is equivalent to a tiny bit more weight of food than 4 cans of FF, so that helps shave off a few equivalent cents as well. I will say it's a big advantage to be able to get FF at the grocery store if I need to.

I know Scooter is a hungry guy though, so I'm not suggesting you deny him his noms. Also it's possible FF has more protein so you might get more bang for your buck in one sense. Mainly I just like the Wellness because I'm lazy and I have to rinse out fewer cans if I use the 12.5-oz ones...

Yeah, I tried feeding him by caloric requirement only and it didn't go over well. He's still not regulated and still overeats a bit, so his food has to have a good amount of volume:calories ratio to it. I have to add a good amount of water to the FF to get it about the same consistency as Wellness, so I think that increases the volume of the food quite a bit. Scooter likes his food warm and soupy, otherwise he plows it around on the plate and most of it ends up on the floor. He's not a small cat, I think he is around 12-13 pounds now.

I actually think washing the FF cans is easier, because the food is so dense- you can tip the can over and the whole glob of pate falls out, so all that is left to rinse out is a bit of the fat jelly in the bottom - and the cans have that white plastic lining. Oh, and they stack too, so I can pile them up nice and big before I have to take them out.

Tip over a can of Wellness and you'll have a big big mess ;-)

Shoot, my whole post disappeared.

If you google "fancy feast coupons", you may be able to find $1 off 24 cans coupons online. I generally print a batch before I go shopping.

Ohh hopefully that 50c per can applies to Canada too, I'll have to stock up. I don't know what they put in this food but he loves it so much, lol.

Ain't that the truth! Some kinds of Merrick are even worse. Grammy's Pot Pie is full of "juice" that wants to splash all over my clothes when the glob of food falls onto the plate. It's really gross. Luckily my cats don't like that kind right now, so I can avoid buying it for a while.

I tried some Friskies but she seemed to like Fancy Feast better.

Just heard that Petsmart is selling at .50$ can- usually it is .59$ and on sale currently for .55$.
Friskies, sells for .58$ was on sale at .50$ so I bought 6 cans to test her willingness to eat it... some success, some not so successful so I am heading back to the FF  . She likes most of them and I printed of Binky's list with the calorie carbs so I can get all the ones 5% or less.

Our Kroger has them at .77$ a can and on sale now 10/$5. Haven't checked out Wally world yet but need to get some test strips so will take a look see.

The 50c sale doesn't apply to Canada, or at least my Petsmart, they still wanted 73c a can which is insane considering they are now 60c at Walmart.

see if they do a price match :-D . But that would be advertised and I don't think that would be in W-M fliers.
