Many of us feed Friskies and/or Fancy Feast pate style wet food. These are under 10% carbs - except for the Friskies indoor cat food with the green lid. Avoid those.

The cat food database is a great resource for finding food options. You can enter the max carbs you want, such as 10%, as well as any other criteria you want, and it will provide you with a list of wet foods meeting your criteria.

Wow, what a great tool.. Thanks for the link:) I already give Cooper a little Fancy Feast (seafood) with his dry food and the database says this is only 1-3% carbs, so will keep with this and cut out all the dry food starting now.

You might want to consider trying the chicken or turkey so that you are not giving him seafood all the time. Here is an excerpt from catinfo.org: "You will notice that many of the higher protein diets are fish-based but it is not a good idea to feed fish to cats. Or, at least not as their main diet. Fish can be high in mercury, high in PBDEs (fire retardant chemicals linked to hyperthyroidism), high in phosphorus (not good for older cats’ kidneys) and can be very addicting. It is best to feed poultry-based diets to cats."

Thanks for that advice about the chicken... Had a 32 can pack from Costco, but it was all seafood, so will check some other stores...
