good morning, Ezzie continues to do well and will be 14 days off insulin on Saturday ( hopefully). She is going to stay on Sunday with a foster where she will be the only cat/ animal and pampered. The only thing is the foster learning blood sugars. We talked about moving to once a week testing, watching litter box and I would go over weekly to check on things and check the blood sugar. I know this might not be ideal and if you have suggestions please advise.

Wonderful news that Ezzie is still in good numbers ! It's party time!!

I am so thrilled that she will be an only cat at the new foster. It sounds like you covered a lot with the foster but you didn't mention diet. Ezzie will always be considered diabetic so to continue with a LC wet diet is going to be important. Maybe you could give the forum info to the new foster and if she has any questions she could contact the board.

Infection, or GI upset or Pancretitis, a bad tooth or needing a cleaning (inflammation) are all things that could knock her out of remission.

Kath, you did such a wonderful job with Ezzie and you should be so proud of yourself. :bighug::):D

Yup, sorry I did stress food, she has been on 4 meals a day . Talked about giving one as frozen to thaw if they have to be gone. I can not thank you guys enough for all the help. I will keep in touch as we move forward in trying to find Ezz that furrrrr-ever home, again many thanks. Kathi

Ezzie has been looking great on her trial.

Hope the new foster understands the importance of the food component, we have had cats get knocked out of remission just for getting into civies HC dry.
I just worry, because I know that so many vets still recommend dry, and as she hasn't been through 'The Sugardance' she may not realize the importance, particularly if she has a very convincing vet.

Well done.

All fingers, toes, paws crossed here for Ezzie's OTJ trial and new foster situation. I hope the foster picks up the testing easily. At least Ezzie is used to it, so only it's not as bad as when both parties are new to it.
