The vet was stunned how well he's doing, she said its rare to see such improvement so quickly!

She was impressed with his coat looking so much better, and that he gained a little weight.

And she was shocked at how low he tested.

She said to stick with .5 units and we don't have to go back for 3 months unless there are any changes.

She said "what you're doing is working, keep doing that!" lol She kept praising me so that felt great! lol

She and the vet tech were both effusive in how well he's doing and she said she is optimistic that he can go into remission. She said that without me even asking! lol :D

They both said that it is better to keep him a little bit high but steady than to try to worry about getting "greens" which made me feel so much better about everything cause that was my instinct all along, when I was chasing greens he just rebounded so much higher, when I decided to stop chasing greens and just try to eliminate rebounds, well eliminate reds from rebounds, and then start eliminating pinks, etc... he did so much better than when I thought that "Greens!" were the holy grail.

We tested him with our meter at the same time she tested him and he was 123 with her meter and 110 with ours so that made me feel a lot better too.

I asked her about ketones and she said "diabetic ketoacidosis would be incredibly unlikely at this point."
So that made me feel so much better too since I never could figure out how to test him with a shared litter box and how do you catch them when they pee? lol

So much weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

I cannot thank you all enough for all of the support I've gotten...

You don't even know.

If it weren't for you guys... if you remember my first post... I totally thought that insulin was just something we could never afford, combined with all the supplies and vet visits... and the fear of not knowing how to inject and test etc.

You all gave me the hope and confidence to try ... and you probably saved his life.

I'm crying now so I'll stop rambling.

Thank you all so much.

Especially @Bellasmom who was SO patient with me! omg lol and answered so many questions and gave so much support.
