Evo dry food

I know that dry is not ideal. But I need to be able to leave dry food out for the Ben and civies in case I get stuck at work. What I have been doing is putting a bowl of regular cat food up on a table for them and Young again on the floor for Ben. But for some reason, the civies are dropping large amounts of food on the floor which Ben happily gobbles up.

Young again didn't work for the civies before so I was wondering about using Evo for everyone. Anyone have experience using Evo for their sugar cat? Thanks.

I tried EVO and my cat crew love-love-loved it. Unfortunately, I moved them over too quickly and some had tummy troubles. I put the non-special-needs kitties back on Blue hairball (their lower carb), and am now going to start introducing EVO very slowly. We have an issue with Bubba eating part of his wet food, then sneaking in and munching some dry before we notice - sneaky little critter, that Bubba - so the community food has to be Bubba-safe.

Our office kitties stayed on EVO. One of the girls has digestive issues and was skinny and gaunt looking. She's filled out since free-feeding EVO.

It is my understanding the Evo changed their formula and now it is ~12% carb (but I am not 100% sure) some people have good luck with it - others don't (I am in the latter category) but it is packed with calories - 600/cup
Young Again Zero Carb is a great food - doesn't raise blood sugar and again packed with calories
Murphy developed an aversion to both of the above so I have used the following two foods and they do not raise his sugar
Wysong's Epigen 90 (it has to be Epigen 90 not the regular Epigen) supposedly has <10% carb, and does not raise Murphy's sugar
Waggers makes a semi-moist starch free food that also does not raise Murphy's blood sugar (and has more moisture than other dry food)
I am now able to feed Murphy mostly wet but do use these in small amounts most days and in a pinch when he won't eat anything else

Yes, EVO did. The ingredients now include starches that, according to the manufacturer, are necessary to hold the kibble together. Whatever. :)

The reviews I found say that people had trouble with diarrhea and vomiting using Epigen. Did you have any trouble? Ben's brother got bad diarrhea with a straight YA diet.

No, never had trouble at all with Epigen90, except that Murphy wouldn't touch it for a few months. Then one day, he decided he liked it. Like any new food, would start slow with it.
