EVO canned -Will it cause stomach upset?

My kitty Ozzie is officially OTJ. We were first feeding wet DM and FF (chicken, turkey, liver, sometime salmon varieties), now only the FF.

My other non diabetic cat Milo also has been switched onto the diet too.

The seemed to like the FF for the first few weeks, now when I put any of the varieties down Milo will eat a little and stand there waiting for something else. Ozzie doesn't seem interested at all! They do eventually eat it, because it's gone when I get home but I am not sure if both are eating and it worries me that one may not be getting enought to eat.

I've been putting out Merrick BG chicken and Turkey too, which again they don't seem too enthused about.

They just don't seem intrested in anything! I tried wellness and Blue Buffallo wilderness, but one of the two gave Ozzie diahrrea and such.

Will EVO cause tummy upset too?

I'm getting frustrated with the food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe I should go back to DM?

I assume you mean the canned EVO?

Unfortunately, you won't know until you (or they!) try it. If the canned DM is the only one they can eat, then that's the one they get. But if the DM and the EVO cause tummy upset/diarrhea too, then maybe they need to be checked out- perhaps it's a tummy bug and not the food.

It could also be the higher fat content in the foods. Wellness, Merrick's BG, and EVO are all very high in fat. When I was feeding Bandit any of these foods, I also had to even it out with a lower fat food like FF or he would get diarrhea.

Also, I'm sure how long you gave them the Wellness and Blue Buffalo but especially with those higher fat foods sometimes it takes a week or so for them to adjust to the food and then they're fine. Switching over the food very gradually and supplementing with Fortiflora can help prevent vomiting and diarrhea while you're transitioning. However, if they're still having problems after a week or so, and you've ruled out a food intolerance to a protein source, then my bet would be on the fat content.

I would highly recommend the lower carb flavors of the regular Merrick's. I feed Bandit Cowboy Cookout, Surf and Turf, Grammy's Pot Pie, and Turducken. All are higher in protein and lower in fat, and both my cats (including the very picky one) loved them. Since I got rid of all the higher fat foods, I've had no more poo problems with Bandit.
