Greetings, furbabies and proud parents!

Just a quick line to let y'all know that Euk continues to do very well. His glucose readings are typically in the 80s, yesterday he had a little spike into the 110's (after stealing Molly's carbs, of course), and he is actually starting to play, which he hasn't done in months. The one thing that I'm concerned is that he lost a lower tooth (one of the very small ones, not the canines), I don't know what to expect or how to approach it. He has this habit of munching on plastic, even hard plastic, so that's how I think he did it, but he doesn't seem to be in pain and is eating well, but the plastic munching is annoying when he wakes me up at 4 AM trying to chew my phones charging cable (I would up covering it up with a pillow so he can't reach it) and I wonder if it's a sign of gum disease or something like that. He had his teeth cleaned under anesthesia many years ago but I'm afraid that at age 14 he may we too old to withstand the procedure, should that be needed. I'm surprised that his sugar hasn't gone up over it (thinking gum disease or infection), so I don't know what to think.
Any thoughts?

Thanks,
HB

So good to get some Eukanubo news! How wonderful he is staying off the juice although it sounds like he has a real plastic fetish. I don't know about the teeth. You might post on Health and ask specifically for dental info for older cats?

Hi HB,
you might wish to find someone who cleans cats' teeth without anesthesia. Hard to believe but years ago such a person covered independent pet shops in my area. Worked like the proverbial snake charmer. Now she comes to one's home by appointment. Perhaps, calling your local independent pet stores would get you in touch with someone in your area. Costs less than a vet's dental visit & is safer with great results.

So glad Euk is doing well & all the best,
Sophie

Hey HB, nice to see you. Wow, Euk really looks like our cat China!
Glad to hear you guys are doing well. Hope you can get Euk over the plastic obsession. They certainly can be naughty when they want to!
Best to ya!

Hi HB - glad to hear Euk is doing so well. My Peaches likes plastic bags, but chewing, not injesting. Hope he continues to hold his own!
