Good morning!

It seems that Mr. P is making a comeback. He was in blue territory all day yesterday, after receiving 0.2 units for a 331 AMPS, he went down to 113. By PMPS time, he was back up to 190. Normally I wouldn't shoot with that low of a number, but I figured that I would try shooting 0.1 to prevent the glucose from climbing with no insulin on board, so I shot, and a bit surprisingly, he didn't drop down that much, down to 153 as far as I know, this morning he is at 164, unchanged from a 3 AM reading of 161, and I know he ate right after the 3 AM reading. So, at 164 I don't dare to shoot, especially since he hasn't been climbing up, if he is anything like he was a week or two ago, I may need to shoot around noon today, then see a long cycle of 18 or maybe even 24 hours, and eventurally go OTJ, with my luck, I may need to go away again

So, it seems that we are getting back on track.

Re: Eukanubo 4/18

Well, I'm not sure if I should get nervous. His sugar went up to the 260s and I decided to try shooting 0.2 out of concern that 0.1 may not be enough, as he hasn't had too many dramatic drops lately. Of course, now at +4 he's down to 82 and not sure how alarmed I should be. He has room to go down lower and he's eating now, but I'm second guessing my decision. I'm hoping he'll bottom out around 50s or so, which would be low but not necessarily life threatening. I just stopped in from work to check the sugar, I have to go back to meet a client around 45 minutes from now, so I should be able to stay around for about 30-40 minutes to monitor. The meeting should be brief and then I can be back in about 1.5 hours, unless any unforseen circumstances. Should I give any high carb food? (I don't really want to as I want to see how he does)

Re: Eukanubo 4/18

Well, I'm back and he seems to be holding steady at 75. If he stays there I would be very happy but I know I have to keep an eye on him this evening. Of course, no PM dose, for that I'm very happy!

Re: Eukanubo 4/18

You may be in a situation where to shoot a measureable amount of insulin, you have to adjust the food carbs, rather than the syringe.

So maybe check the carb level on what you're feeding and see if there is something just a tad higher that you can carefully mix in, maybe a teaspoon worth, that lets you dose the 0.2 Units safely, without needing to hover and test intensively.

Re: Eukanubo 4/18

Thanks. I can't find the carb content of Fancy Feast Chicken Classic which is what he's eating now, all I know is that it's less than 10%
I just checked a +6, he's up to 92, so I think we'll be fine. The way he's going, he may not need insulin again until maybe 18, 24, or even 36 hours, as his cycles seem to again get longer and longer.

Good morning,

I couldn't find in the linked table the classic fancy feast chicken dinner, or neither of the classics, maybe it's the early hour and I need some ~O) ~O) ~O) (coming up shortly, I'll upload some for y'all) :-D

Not much going on. He woke up up around 2:30 AM for food, so I fed him and went back to sleep. This morning, his glucose is 162, too low to shoot. Either he stays TLTS or by noon he may need a tiny dose. Maybe I can start making bets, that he'll be, let's say, in the low 200s by lunchtime. Seems that Mr. P is working part time but so far can't be persuaded to work full time, ahh well, I'll take the part time for now

Have a great day y'all!

Maybe you should plan another weekend away....whisper, whisper, wink, wink. ;-) Then you can cancel at the last minute because Euk numbers will amazing again.
I think it sounds like a good plan to trap Mr.P.

I would stick with his current food, I'm against upping the carbs to make him more shootable. Whenever he gets up to the 150+ point and you catch him offer him a snack and see what it does. If Mr. P feels like playing, the food should kick him on again and he should drop a bit. If not, the food should bring him up to where he's shootable. Much of what you're seeing in low numbers is Mr. P, so I wouldn't be super concerned about shooting a .1u into a "rising from 150" number after food.
