Good morning!
Well, so much for progress...last night when I went to bed around 9:30 PM, he was at a beautiful 138, unchanged since what would have been his PMPS reading, 3.5 hours later. So I go to sleep, then I got up at 4 AM and it's up to 298. I feed him, go back to bed as I'm trying to keep the schedule 6 o'clock-12 o'clock. So now that's almost 6, I recheck and its up to 328. Actually, that's not a bad number considering how high he's been before and that it's been 24 hours without any insulin. So, it seems to me that yesterday's measly 0.1 dose lasted at least 15.5 hours, it probably wore off during the night. So the dilemma is, how much to dose? I was tempted to shoot 0.4 units but decided that 0.2 was a safer number, and I wasn't sure that 0.1 would do the job as he's gone up.
Rats, I thought he was practically THERE. Oh, well, I need to be patient and keep in mind he's done fantastically well in the last week or two. I wouldn't mind as much if it wasn't for me going out of town next weekend and how he'll be managed at the vet.
