G'mornin' !!!

Got up at 4 AM to find Euk seemingly hungry. Glucose check a beautiful 163, too low for me to shoot. Problem is that he is not eating like he's been and I'm not sure what's up with that. He looks fine otherwise, very alert but just stares at the dish, I wonder if it's the dementia I've been thinking of... OK, never mind, as I write this he's trying to cough up a hairball, so no wonder he's not eating. I wonder if I should put him back on the mirtazapine and/or Pepcid? He's been off them like for a week at least, since he had been eating well. I'm not sure if the good reading this morning could be partly from his not eating and therefore his glucose may go up once he starts eating again, still, it seems that there is some baseline insulin going up as he would normally be in the 300s at least and he hasn't even made it into the 200s since 2 days ago.

Update:
After trying to hack up a hairball (only clear liquid came out, which is very usual for him), he ate some. Recheck glucose now is 215, so I decided to go ahead and shoot ~ 0.1, he did fine yesterday when I shot that same dose on a 190. I was hoping not having to shoot this morning but looks that that day is getting very close.

Sure seems that way. I'd be tickled pink w/ those numbers - how far he's come in such a short time! Gives me, and I'm sure many others, a ray of hope about what the future can hold.

Have a great day... you're off to a really good start, in spite of the hairball!

The 215 could have been some stress from the hair ball.

Do you have any extra time off this weekend? It would be the perfect time to really watch/test him.

With all of that aside Euks numbers are looking really good. dancing_cat

It's noon time and he got a lovely, green 94, cant' get any better!

On the other hand, he's a bit strange today. He seems very hungry but is not eating much. He is chewing on things (particularly thinks like books, hard plastic things) like he is hungry but thumbs his nose up at his food, no matter how fresh it is. He's done the chewing thing several times before but not recently, never been sure what it means. He seems determined to catch Molly's food (it ain't gonna happen as long as I'm safeguarding it out of reach). He is both purring contentedly and attacking my hands like he is irritated or wants to bite off my fingers. The good thing is that he is NOT looking sickly or ill, just plain weird today. I'm slightly concerned he may keep dropping this afternoon but I'll be here for a couple more hours, and I think he has room to drop. As for the weekend, it's hard to tell as I have stuff to do and will be in and out, and then again, maybe he'll just be too low to shoot? (here's hoping).
