Good morning, April foolers!
Seems that Euk played his April fool joke yesterday with that low AMPS. This morning, it's back to normal at 331. I fell asleep after my last post last night so I never gave the insulin at 11 PM, so this morning the clock restarts all over again so I'm not too upset about it, as the injected insulin has worn off. I was tempted to shoot 0.8 based on a similar reading a few days ago, but decided to shoot 0.6 because he might be more insulin sensitive seeing what transpired the last couple of days.

Probably a good choice dosage-wise - and likely a good thing that daddy bean got some sleep. I've had a few late AMPSs cuz my body said I needed sleep too! Hope he gives you some good numbers today.

Thanks,
looks like we're back on track, his +6 reading is 139, looking good.

I'm noticing that his appetite has normalized. He eats in the morning, then sleeps for hours (like any normal cat) and is not whining about food constantly (that is, except when he's sick and doesn't eat at all). So, since he's not eating all the time, that seems to keep his glucose under control. Then again, SCDD is a force to be reckoned with...

The other thing I'm noticing is that he LOOKS very good, his coat looks shiny and beautiful, and he is giving some very healthy vibes, he is perky and is even starting to play a little, which is always a good sign.

Well, it's going to be interesting (in a good way) around here. His +8 was down to a beautiful 104, then I had to go out and do errands, just got home to a very nice 123 at +11. He was standing by his food but I'm not sure he had eaten much, but since his shot time is about 1 hour away I'll make sure he eats. Then again, not sure what I'll do if after eating, he still tests low. This is going to really mess up the schedule because I'm busy most of tomorrow morning so I can't stay to monitor, I'm also not sure how much would I dose, I'm guessing 0.4 but it depends on the actual reading.

I've never dosed on such low numbers - heck - I've rarely SEEN such low numbers! But when Grayson was dancing those marathon cycles, the suggestion was to cut the dose. That's how we ended up at .2u.

Regardless of how much or when you choose to shoot, be sure you're checking for ketones - even if his numbers aren't that high. An inexpensive little insurance policy in a $6 bottle!

His last few days have been awesome!
