Email notification

I can't get them at all. Subscribing to a topic does nothing. I know Robert said he was working on it.

It's so hard to follow topics without that working.

So, who CAN get notifications?
 
I don't and don't really want to get email notices. I find it easier to just click on "view your posts" to see recent responses all at the same time and then to be able to click to go directly to the first new response.
 
I meant to post this in Tech Support. I know there is a way to delete a post. I can't find how to do it. Can you help?

Once a post has been replied to, you can't delete it.
Did you get notifications at one time, but no longer get them? Or have you never gotten them?

I've never gotten them. In the Control Panel, I can see a list of watched topics under manage subscriptions that I subscribed to and am supposed to get notifications, but I don't.
 
Hmmm. Then yes, it should be working. Do you get notifications when you get a PM?

I'm going to guess you already looked to see if they are going to your spam/trash folder? Have you manually added "webmaster@felinediabetes.com" to your contacts list in your email address book?

On your "board preferences" tab under global settings, are the top two three options, and the 5th option set to "yes"?
 
No notifications for a PM either, if you mean by email.

And yes, options are set as you said.

I did trade some email from Robert sometime ago where he said he was working on email notification.

I have checked my spam folder. Not today, but I have a few times when I saw I wasn't getting any mail.

on 8/7 I said to Robert "I sure wish email notification worked" and he said "working on it".... that is the last I heard.

I know some people get them. But do any new people get them or just people who have been here a long time?
 
And webmaster is not in my contacts. I will add it.

I did ask to be added to the geographic list but the request just sat in my Outbox and no one picked it up... I finally deleted after a month.

It is not just new people not getting the emails. I have been on the FDMB since 2005 and I am a moderator. Since the software change I haven't gotten emails, and I have all but given up on getting them.

I wonder why it works for some people but not others? Did Robert somehow hand code some people's emails in without getting the general email to work for everybody? I wish he would respond to the email I sent him.
 
Robert responded.... here is what I said and what he said.

My message:
Please, we need an update on this problem. Why can some people get them and others cannot? I am one of the cannots. Please help.

The update is the same. I need to switch the server. With the end of the summer things have gotten busy. I already have the server ready and I think it might happen this coming week.
