Eating paper

This is kinda off topic, but I know I've seen it mentioned here before.

A friend's dog is eating paper. Any kind. Tissue, newspaper, you name it.

I recall someone mentioning a vitamin or mineral deficiency that results in this tendency. Is anyone aware of what that might be?

It's called 'pica' and happens in lots of different species including humans, dogs, cats, lizards.... :roll: Maybe you can at least learn more by having a name for it. My pups chew paper but it's just to create a huge pile of 'Black Kitty' (Angela's) paper...
