ear mites

does anyone have a suggestion for ear mite treatment? I prefer to stay away from chemicals when I can. I use diatomaceous earth (food grade, not pool treatment) for fleas, but don't think it would be good to put down my cats ears.

Mineral oil is supposed to work but I use the ear mite meds from vet. I wouldn't use the DE in ears, I suspect it would cake up in places it shouldn't be....
