well the vet says there was a very small amount of e coli in the sample I gave them (mr b had poo and litter caked all around his butt and genitals one night so I got worried). so he'll be starting amoxy tonight.

SO my question is:

should I still do an increase tomorrow morning (tonight will be 6th dose on this amount)? IF an infection can keep bg#'s higher than usual, should I assume that is happening?

It's one of those "go with your gut" things. I don't see any unusually high numbers on the SS that might indicate an issue with an infection. But yes, generally, infections raise big numbers. He does have room to drop overall though.

So, are you feeling okay with an increase and monitoring? Or does the thought make you nervous and would you rather wait?

I'm more than happy to do increase. Not seeing a whole lot of inspiring movement on the ss. Vet even said to go up to 4u am, and stick with 3u pm. My concern would be bouncing with that kind of hike.
