I've just found out one out of the 3 cats I have is diabetic. She's very picky about her food. She's always had dry food and so I'm wondering if anyone has heard or knows of any brand out there for dry food? I know they recommend wet but I can't get her to eat it. Any suggestions or ideas?

While you work on transitioning, you might try
Young Again 0 carb - internet only - can get free sample to try - allegedly, they eat less once used to it, so not as expensive as it seems.
Evo Cat & Kitten - specialty pet stores
Stella & Chewey's Freeze dried - Meant to be rehydrated, so may be good for slow transition! - specialty pet stores
Cat Info has lots of tips on transitioning.
An additional tip - take something like a Fancy Feast classic pate, put a small amount on a baking tray and bake on a low temp until dried. Add a pinch every meal to the dry, gradually increasing the number of pinches. Then dry it a bit less each batch. and so on.

Maui was a dry food addict too. It took a lot of cajoling and even my spoon feeding her canned food to get her to eat it and realize that it really was food and would be good for her to eat it.
I won't say it is easy to transition a dry food addict, but it can be done. It requires patience and persistence on your part and even some tough love. If you are able to hand feed you may need to try that to get her to eat it.
Our food sessions were never neat, I think Maui wore as much food as she consumed.

Wink was a dry food addict too. Once he got out of the shelter to come live with me, I slowly cut back on the amount of dry food and tried many different flavors of wet/canned cat food. He decided he liked the Fancy Feast Turkey and Giblets flavor, hated any fishy flavors, tolerated the FF Chicken Feast. He'll now eat a bout 4-5 different canned food flavors, but like Hillary said, it takes time, persistence and patience to get a cat to switch from dry to wet.

You might try sprinkling some Fortiflora on the wet food. Some cats like the taste and will try the wet food.

Are you already giving insulin? If so, are you home-testing? Warning: if you're already using insulin and start switching over to wet, there may be a significant decrease in BGs as a result, requiring a decrease in dose. You want to be home-testing in order to catch this potential drop and stave off any possible hypos.
