Hi everyone,
Tonight my 11 year old kitty Dutch had drool dripping from his mouth (not a ton but I’m still worried). He is on 4 units of Lantus twice a day, eats Smallbatch raw with Tomlyn Immune Support Powder and ProDen Plaque Off Powder mixed in, and gets Hemp CBD twice a day. He has ALWAYS been a drooler but I’ve only ever seen him drool when he’s super happy and purring. Tonight he was just sitting on my nightstand while my brother petted him and I saw a couple drops of drool come out of his mouth. I might be overreacting but I’d rather ask here than do nothing. It is also worth mentioning that my family has been in pretty strict quarantine for an entire year due to my brothers immunrocompromised status, and today was the first day we have had “strange” people come through the house in a long time. He is very nervous around strangers and tonight he has also been a bit skiddish and hissed at my brother when he surprised him. I am pretty sure this behavior is due to the new people in the house (he probably doesn’t remember a time when people other than the family were here), and I read that nervousness can cause drooling but I don’t know. I’m thinking that the CBD might also be the cause if he’s starting to calm down but I’m not sure about that either. I’ve taken his blood glucose levels and they’re perfect so I’m mainly worried about a dental issue because I know diabetic cats can be more prone to those than normal. He did have warning signs for periodontal disease a couple years ago soon after he got diagnosed with diabetes but since then I’ve been adding Plaque Off to hus food and they’ve gone away. What do you guys think? Am I just worrying for no reason? He is acting perfectly normal besides the nervousness (which I think is because of the new people? and the drooling. Any thoughts or info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Update: it has been about half an hour since the drooling incident and his mouth area is totally dry so? Maybe I’m really worrying for nothing - would still love to know your input though!!!
