Good morning everyone!

My last post on 9/9/10:

viewtopic.php?f=9&t=24567

It's been a while but things have been steady. I've had Chigga on 1.75u in the morning and at night for almost the last 3 weeks and we're getting some good numbers. I think I may need to bump it up to 2 units so we can start getting more greens and get them steady. Just wanted to see what people thought in terms of the dosage. Should I keep it at 1.75 and just see how things go or should I bump up to 2 units, maybe increase the testing as much as I can (work 10 hours during the day away from home)?

Thoughts?

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Chigga's #s looking a lot better. can't help you with dosing, but someone will be by that can. just wanted to tell you Way To Go on your testing and your SS. looking good.

Feeding info is great, but posting on a daily basis, could be beneficial for you & Chigga--
If you will be home to monitor your cat, then increasing the dose would help the numbers.
But as you are away for 10 hours a day, maybe you could add a drop on the dose to a fat 1.75 to achieve the greens you are looking for..
You would also need to leave out extra food to be available while you are gone.
Please wait for one of the dosing advisors as you are pretty new...I would wait for their advice also!
They might advice a 0.25 increase..
You should try an increase when you will be home for a whole weekend, so you can be there to monitor -You are doing a good job!

Nice to see you guys....hope that someone will be along to help you with the dosing question.

Chigga has a lot of nice blues.... You certainly have a long day for yourself Erica...are you able to increase the testing, particularly at night? That might be an influence on raising the dose...

I could test more at night - I guess my question is, what would be the best numbers to get? Usually I go to bed around +4 so I could do up til then and then it would be a matter of setting my alarm to test which is what I did last night at +6.

Hey Erica!!

I'm with Pat -- I'd like to see more data before feeling comfortable about making a suggestion. If you can get a PM +4 and maybe one other spot check at night at a time of your choosing, that will help. Also, if you can get a curve over the weekend, that will give everyone a clearer picture of what's happening between the pre-shots during the day, too. Given your schedule, it might make sense to think about a changing the dose at a point when you're home to monitor (i.e., over the weekend).

I think you're right about waiting to change the dose until I can be there to monitor because she's already had a couple of greens and is in the low blue range, I wouldn't want to change it to 2 units and then not be there to see how she handles it - so perhaps depending on her numbers the rest of this week doing the change Friday night. Or fattening up the 1.75...I'm not sure. I will get more numbers in the PM over the next few days and see where that lands us - maybe a +3, +4 and a +7? I feel like her numbers are moving in the right direction and she's certainly feeling and looking better so we'll see. Trying to remain calm and not get too frustrated when her numbers seem to do the opposite of what they did the night before. It's just strange when on one day they drop and level out at +3 and other days go up around +6. I feed her at the same time every day and leave her frozen food for during the day. Sorry, I'm rambling. I just want her to get better.

Sounds like a plan!!

Try to not get frustrated -- although that's easier said than done. You always have to remember, we're dealing with cats. It is their nature to be unpredictable if for no other reasons than to make sure they have our undivided attention!!
