Hello all,
we have done 7 cycles at the 5.75 units and I have to say..that .25 mark is not easy to judge. I'm pretty sure I am getting it closer to the 6 mark. It doesn't help that I am half blind myself. I wasn't able to get a pmps on Taffy last night but got one at +2.75 and she was 189 tested again on the +6 and was 256. Most other readings have been back in 300s
In 2 weeks, I have to go out of town on business for 3 days and my DH will be responsible for giving her shots. He won't do ear pricks and he is nervous enough about doing the shots even though I keep telling him it is no big deal. I need her at a whole or 1/2 marked unit number by then. Please look at her numbers and advise if I can bump it to 6 units. I can monitor her closely over the next 2 weeks (I am with her 24/7) and need to get a feel for how she will react on 6, else I am going to need to take it back down to the 5.5 units. I am only gone for 3 days and I've ordered an auto feeder to do her mid day meal. For the time I am gone I would rather her get too little insulin than risk a hypo. DH really would freak out over that.
THIS IS A DIFFICULT CAT - she will only let me or my husband near her so calling someone in isn't an option while I am away.
Thank you!!
