Hey everyone! Bodie has been on the low end for him for a couple days now pre-stick. Our vet gave us a "no-stick" at 100. He's at 113 now, should get one unit, but I"m wondering if the one unit is going to be too much for him considering the one unit has been our dose even when he's in the upper 200's/300's, and it brings him down quite a bit. We were thinking of trying .5units tonight instead. Thoughts?

Sorry no one got to you earlier. what did you decide to do?
As you are using an alphatrak meter, the take action number is 68 and that is the number you take a reduction as well.
If you shoot a lower than normal number always get a +1 and a+2 to start with to make sure he is not dropping further.
You can also stall. Don’t feed and test again 20 minutes later to see if the number is rising.

I think you’re fine with the token dose with Lantus. No action 68 means you skip the shot at that number and/or stall to see if it’s going up. Better safe than sorry I’d have given Minnie a reduced dose under 150 as well
