Dosing Advice Lantus Due now

Spreadsheet up-to-date. Luke's numbers are 176 and looking for a recommendation for dose due now. He got AM BG very low yesterday and I didn't give a shot. Then the evening BG was very high. So I'm thinking possibly half a dose now? He gets three units.

A half dose might be a good idea. You don't want to keep him in bounce mode, which seems to be what he's doing right now. So, it looks like he needs just enough insulin to keep him level, but not the full three units. My kitty was on Vetsulin, but from what I've read from others who are using Lantus, it's very effective at lowering BG. That's just my opinion---I'd say go with your gut, based on his numbers. You might even go as low as just one unit, just because of the effectiveness of Lantus. Sure hope that helps!
