Dose Increase? All of my mistakes accounted for in SS!

Between altering doses when we first started (hadn't discovered this group yet), feeding her dry food to help lower her BG (which caused extreme HIs), accidentally increasing her dose twice, and being terrified to shoot low numbers, it's a miracle my baby has survived me. And then, today her sensor needed to be replaced which meant I had to delay her dose an hour which I think has caused her to be at over 400 at +6 AM today.

Bottom line is she's been under 150 two or three times at .5 on Lantus. I'm thinking it might be time for a dose increase, but because I've made all of these mistakes and what appear to be bounces, it's difficult for me to tell.

Any advice?

There’s a lot to learn. Be kind to yourself. With SLGS you hold the dose for 7 days and then do a curve unless there’s a drop under 90. Because of the skipped shots this is day 3 so too sn to increase.

You're doing a great job with your testing! You will learn, we are newer to FD too, and your testing is setting you up to really figure this out well!

Thanks. I just hate to see her numbers on the high side. I see you have a Siamese/Ragdoll mix - we also have a part seal point ragdoll rescue. She's a mess. She wasn't captured until she was 4 months old. We got her at six months. She's so lovable but still skittish. She disappears for hours after someone has been in the house. Takes us forever to find her. We've had many Siamese over the years. Although we love them all, Siamese are my favorites.

You are not alone in the being terrified to shoot low numbers :)
I was thinking I must be the only big chicken here, so even though I am sorry you are terrified, I am glad I am not alone in this great fear.

It usually takes guilt to make me do the things I have to do for this disease. I never thought I would give her a needle, but had to. The first hypo I was a mess. Had to calm myself down. I didn't have any karo or anything else in the house - didn't know about giving her high carb food. I had to mix sugar with water to rub on her gums, and maple syrup. I had sugar everywhere. After the highs from the low incident, the guilt won't let me not shoot low again.

It does help knowing I'm not the only one too. It also helps to look at other SS to see how long it too for others to regulate their baby.

There was a delayed shot of 2 hrs because I was afraid to shoot at 123. Does that count as a skipped shot? If it doesn't, I think I'm on day 5. When I delayed the shot, I just pushed her next shot 12 hrs and changed the cycle times. I'm now 1 pm and 1 am. Fortunately I'm a night owl. I am going to try to switch that back in 15 minute increments each night. I would like to get back to 10 am to 10 pm. Going to take a while.

You can adjust by 15 minutes per cycle or 30 minutes per day so it won't take quite as long! (as long as she's high enough to shoot early)
