Please take a look at Orion's spreadsheet. I backed off from the 2.5 units because he had several numbers that were too low for me to shoot. I was concerned he might drop too low when I was asleep or not home. Now at 2 units he's over 300 again. I could try eyeballing a 2.25 unit dose but it would be a guess at best. What should I do?

Your amps today was lovely, so I wouldn't get too discouraged. Just one cycle. Your pmps may be a bounce from the lower amps. I wouldn't raise the dose yet.

One thing you could do is get U100 syringes and use the conversation chart. http://www.felinediabetes.com/insulin-conversions.htm (The conversion is necessary because you are using U40 insulin with U100 needles.). With those syringes, you could shoot 2.2 and 2.4. Or you can shoot a skinny or fat dose with your U40s. Say you want to shoot a fat 2. Pull up 2.5 and let out drops until there is just a little bit over 2 on the syringe. That is harder than dosing with the u100s, but it is an option.

I like 2 units for the yellows and pinks. I think it was more than I would have given on your amps, but it turned out okay. The good news is that his numbers are gradually lowering as are his doses. Encouraging!

When you are wondering what to give, post and ask for advice. If you post daily, we can give you ideas about your doses and why we'd give that amount.
