You are not annoying. That is why we are here …to help.
Have you done any ketones urine tests?
Also I know you are doing 10 and 10 but we really do need to see some pm cycle tests to see what is happening…this is for Ernie’s safety.

Re the dose…it is very hard to advise when we have no idea what happens at night…if he drops lower or not.
And I am concerned about all the skips as well.
And I do understand the issues you have with your Mum having to give some of the doses and none being able to test.
Why don’t we try giving 1 unit for both cycles for a few days and see if we can come up with a dose that you feel comfortable with giving both cycles? It would help a lot if you could just get 1 test in each cycle if you can.
For tonight, as long as he eats well and you can leave some food out for him, I would give 1/2 unit.

Thanks Bron for getting back to me.

I think you’re right going back to 1 unit might be best as I haven’t been able to regular him with the same dose since we started the treatment. The vet probably should have let me stick with 1 unit for a bit but they saw the increase in glucose and then bumped it.
I’ll do the 0.5 tonight. He always has food left out for him but he’s a grazer so I’m not sure if he’ll eat again tonight after the shot or not that’s the only thing.

I’ll try to get a test in after his PM shots. I won’t be able to tonight but I can try tomorrow. Just a bit hard due to the already late shot time for him. I did a ketone test on Friday and that was 0.5. It’s using the blood meter.

I understand about the lateness of the schedule but the tests during the cycles tell us so much and we want to keep Ernie safe. That is the most important thing.
