Buddy's been getting been pretty good #'s lately, however not with out paying the price(green to red in few hours)...
wondering if alittle adjustment is needed or perhaps just more time at this dose??Thanks.

Gee Marci, it sure looks like his best dose might be between that fat 1.25U and the thin 1.5U! He gets greens on the thin 1.5U but bounces quickly. On f1.25U he got down to blues but still bounced some.

Like I told Kelly, it's sometimes about fine tuning a dose. Have you looked at Sheila's macro pictures of syringe markings, droplet method? That might help you fine tune your doses to achieve and maintain consistency. Also, you can use an index card to mark where each dose is and use that to line up on the syringe so you get it as close to the same each time. Use a fine point pen.

Here are Sheila's pictures again: http://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=34424#p360982

I notice some inconsistency in timing of shots. That can make a difference too. I know it's hard to get the same time every day, believe me I don't follow my own advice! I feel there's a 15 minute window where the shot should be given relative to the dose before it. But each shot needs to be within that same window - in other words, not 15 minutes PMPS and then another 15 minutes late for AMPS. That is then 1/2 hr off the previous AMPS.

I can help you with split dosing if you ever have a need to make an hour change or so, but it has to be something you prepare for, not something you do 'cause oops you have to do a late shot.

Actually, i would like to move his shot up 2 hours. I was planning on moving forward 15 min each cycle,
but I guess I won't now.what do you reccomend?would 15 min each pm work?

Oh, you want to do his shot 2 hours later than present? That's an easy one!

You give half the regular dose at the AM time you normally give it now. Then give the second half 2 hours later so that your PM shot will be 2 hrs later than usual.

For example: half dose 8AM, another half dose at 10AM, your PM dose time is now 10PM. And you can give the full dose at the PM one. So then your new cycle is 10AM/10PM.

You could also do the splits in the PM.

That is much easier than moving in 15 minute increments. It should work fine. All it does is extend duration 2 hours ahead. I do it once a week. Check our spreadsheet, although it's not updated. I usually have to do it on Wed or Friday.

Well, it can. I generally see a rise a couple cycles later, but it's short-lived. But it's much better than making nearly 8 changes in time at 15 minutes per to get 2 hours ahead! Unless you are super-punctual, I don't see how anyone could get those exactly 15 minutes apart each time!
