Any tips or suggestions?! Should I feed my kitty the same as usual?

I'm pretty new to all this stuff! Just want to make sure I do everything right!

Hi, I'm still a newbie myself and am doing the same thing today :-D

My understanding is that you feed puss as you normally would and just record everything. That's what I'm doing anyhow--if that's not right, someone with more experience will be along to let us know.

My girl is behaving beautifully  good luck with yours.

Great that you are doing a curve. Yes, do as usual - AM preshot test, then put food down and then inject while eating. Not sure if you are palnning to test every hour of not. I'm thinking probably at +2 and +4, and then to narrow the window where the nadir might occur, test at +5, +6, and +7. By then you should see the rise begin. Then you can test at 2 hours again until PM preshot. If you want to just do every 2 hours, that is fine as well. Hope it goes well.

and if you miss a test during the day of curve, no big deal, you are data gathering and this is one way to see what happens throughout the cycle.

If you notice the numbers stay relatively the same throughout the cycle, you may want to not check every hour or two, and save some strips by checking every 3 hours or so.

honestly, whatever you do will be good and all information is useful. good luck with curve day.

Thanks everyone!

Got the morning started off about 30 mins late, didn't want to wake up this morning!! But we are off and running. I think I'll just stick to every 2 hours (except for maybe around +4 and +6?) b/c my Lucky isn't very happy today for some reason. He hissed and growled at me during the testing and his shot this morning. Maybe he was just really hungry b/c breakfast was late?!

How did your curve go?! I found it really hard to keep track with time but I only got off by 30 minutes. After the PM shot, I didn't test him again, poor thing. But he did okay! This morning I tested him and actually purred the whole time LOL I think we need a dosage increase. I'm waiting to hear from the Vet.

Well done!

I had no trouble keeping track of the time, and like you only tested her at +4 after the PM shot, poor wee thing, we'd both had enough by then. @-)

Her numbers were all over the place, which was a bit disappointing. We saw the vet yesterday and she's had another antibiotic shot because I think she's brewing a chest infection, and her dose is increased to 2u BD--but I'm not going to start it until the weekend when I'm home to watch her. I think she probably does need it though.

Slow and steady... :-D
