I'm just setting my timer and checking him every two hours. I leave the food out for them all day, idk if it's important to know that or not.

Just be sure to pick up the food before the evening test. It may be that it will be wise to feed less often, but we can deal with the numbers on this curve with the food involved. Good luck!

How far in advance? Because he will likely be low enough to not need a shot at 8, which is our twelve hour mark.

Wow! Nice curve so far, Melissa. So even though he is still dropping and may not be high enough to shoot, I'd still pick up the food 2 hours before the usual shot time. In fact, you might pick it up now. He isn't likely to drop too low, but just in case, you want him hungry enough so he will eat while you bring his numbers up.

He may also decide to bounce back up and give you a shootable pmps.

If he should drop to 50, be sure to ask for advice. You'd want to bring out a little high carb food, (just a teaspoon) like the gravy off a high carb FF can and retest in 20 minutes. He still is in lovely safe numbers, but just wanted to give you a heads up.

Next time you are at the store, buy some FF with gravy. Put them, clearly marked, in your hypo kit. Kibble takes longer to bring up numbers and may mess up his levels for awhile. Just a teaspoon of gravy makes a fast difference.

And actually, I've got two cans of Hills Urgent Care the vet gave me to feed him if he became low but capable of eating.

Wow! Well I guess that 1.5 does cause movement! So far, what I'm getting is that BC is a late nadir cat! I wondered when I saw those lower numbers later in other cycles, but today definitely shows it. Hmmm...definitely interested to see what PMPS is!

It was 99
He was eating at six when I found him, so he had a meal just before I stuck him at six, then I put the food up.

So skip tonight. Will you be around tomorrow? He may be high, as he will have been 24 hours without insulin. But I think I'd still lower - maybe down to 1.25 and see if you get two shootable preshots. He wasn't too low, but he was too low to shoot.

Wow! I had noticed how long the prozinc seems to stay with him, but amazing to see exactly how it works with the curve! Great job getting the numbers, and give BC some extra scratches for being a good blood donor :cat:

Yeah I'll be here , I'm almost positive. We are packing unnecessary stuff right now in pre-move mode.
Do I need to do another round of curve?

Sarah, he's always really good when his numbers are good. He tends to hide when high, so may not be so god tmw...

No, it's just be nice to see how the reduced dose works so you have some good data to make future dose decisions.

Good job today! We'll fine tune this dose and get it to work.

Hi Melissa, just wanted to check on you and your guy :) Noticed on your SS that he's been getting into the dog food :banghead: Cooter was doing this, I wound up having to feed the dogs out on the back porch!

Yeah BC definitely misses having crunchy food. He stands and waits for the dog to finish now, so he can have a go at the leftovers. I just wait and put it up, but yesterday, he figured out where I'm keeping it and jumped up on the counter when I wasn't in there.
