I read slippery elm bark should not be given at the same time as meds absorbed by the intestines. But the phosphorus binder aluminum hydroxide isn't absorbed by the intestines, is it? Does it bind the phosphorus before that point?
I don't know the answer specific to the P-binder. It's advised not to give SEB 2 hours before or after any meds as far as I know. Hopefully someone else will help clarify.

You are correct that binders should be added to the food to bind the P in the food before it gets to the intestines. I added binders to every helping, even around when I gave SEB, because even if it only helped a little, it helped.
