? Does anyone have a lower fat wet food that you feed your kitty

I have been force feeding my cat Hill's I/d, which is what he eats all the time. After force feeding Buddy does not want to eat the Hill's I/D. Buddy, has chronic pancreatitis and most of the foods have enough fat that it makes him sick. I know some will say that is not true, but with Buddy it is. I have seen it many times. Buddy, has started taking prednisone for his pancreatitis he is eating some dry food and is showing interest in wet. I have been force feeding him for around a month. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
 
Awwwwww poor Buddy :bighug: I do hope you find what you need. I feed Merrick and FF with some weruva . What persentage is low fat? Weruva "Play" have 3% or so depends on the different types.

Ive tried to read the Merrick cans even with a magnifying glass I cant make it out. :mad:
The Weruva I only have a couple of the chicken "Play" varieties and both are 3% fat. I dont know what % fat you are looking for. Also I can only find this Weruva at Pet Co. Which means a trip to 2 diff pet stores just for food.:rolleyes: We are supposed to go this week to replenish when I do I will check out more cans. Is 3% considered low?
 
Tomlin ate Royal Canin Prescription Gastrointestinal MODERATE calorie wet food.
The key with this food is that the fat content is MAXIMUM whereas most of the wet foods are MINIMUM fat and protein content. What this means is that the fat can be MUCH higher than the amount listed. Unfortunately, as you know from shopping for your own meats, higher fat meat is cheaper than lean meat.....so you can guess what is in many of the foods given that most cats don’t have an issue with a little more fat. It only becomes an issue with cats who can’t digest it easily OR in cats that you are trying to keep at certain lean weight!
 
I forgot to mention that Royal Canin changed the formula around May of this year. I called for the new Typical Analysis for the Rx GI Mod Calorie. I have listed the new analysis and the old. Note that the key with this food is that the fat content is consistent and at a max of 1.6 grams or 2.63% and will never be higher than that. Again, unfortunately, most food out there has minimum fat contents which means it can be much higher and you have no way of knowing from batch to batch (until your cat who is sensitive to fat becomes ill :(!)

Wet Food 3oz Typical Analysis:

Fat slightly higher at MAX 1.6g (old 1.5g) and is 2.63%
Carb lower at 65.8/1000cals vs 79.2/1000cals and at 5.63% which is same percentage as old
Protein is 6.5g vs old at 6g
Phosphorus is 0.2% or 2.89g which is same

Yes, I think 20% is even considered lower.

Yes, that is low. The I/D Buddy eats is 20%, but he cannot go higher.
