Thanks!
Hi YES She is wheezy when she is sleeping. I read that in humans it affects respiratory conditions. Does that mean it also will affect her?Are you noticing any differences?
Hi Thanks Amethyst snores also I am glad his Acro is gone!Leo had pretty bad Acro before the SRT (radiation). Acro can cause growths in a lot of places - including soft palate and laryngeal tissues.
Leo has some minor breathing issues when ages (1-5). But we noticed bigger respiratory issues as the Acro increased. While his Acro is mostly gone now, he has wheezy breathing - mostly when sleeping. And he snores very loudly. This did not occur pre-Acro (2 years ago).
Leo also has trouble swallowing. Often he is starving. I feed him mushy fancy feast (with water). He starts eating, maybe too fast, then runs away. If I hold the bowl up, he usually has a much easier time.
SRT can take up to two years to fully take effect. We had one kitty here, Polly, who took three years to go OTJ. And a lot of SRT kitties don't go OTJ - Neko never did. However, it can reduce the tumour to a point where it's just a small dose and much easier to regulate. It doesn't mean the acro tumour is gone though. He probably has some pancreatic diabetes or some leftover Acro that is causing the insulin demand.
