My geriatric sugar baby bled around one of his canine teeth this morning. He has had 3 dental cleanings with some extractions since I adopted him five years ago. It is no longer bleeding and his blood sugar is in range of where it usually is.

The gum is red, but it doesn't look infected (presently) and tooth is not imminently coming out..

It's Labor Day and the vet center that is open is not my favorite (vets can be hit or miss). On hold with them, would you take kitty in today?

I think you answered your own question. It’s not currently bleeding. You don’t think there is any sign of infection. Blood sugar is normal, and I would expect it be higher than normal if it was infected or he was in pain. If this were my cat, I would wait, but keep an eye on it to be sure it doesn’t get worse.

Thank you. I decided to wait. I may schedule him for a dental and see if they would just pull the rest of his teeth. I sometimes wonder if he has stomatitis; he has had so many issues. Since he will be on canned Fancy Feast the rest of his life, it might be easier on him.
