Is decreased water intake normal when cats are switched from dry to wet food? We have a water dispenser for the kitties, and the water level doesn't go down much these days. I rarely see anyone drink.

Come to think of it - we switched the dog to wet, and he doesn't seem to drink as much, either.

Just curious. :)

My Fitz eats only home made raw and rarely will he drink. I do put a teaspoon of warm water in his food with each feeding. He thinks he's getting more food and zi know he's getting more water;)

Absolutely normal!!

Cats are desert creatures so they get most of their water from their prey.....when you switch to a species appropriate diet instead of dry, they're getting the majority of their water from the food
