So, this is a single source information (to confirm), but my vet's office tell me that Purina are discontinuing the Pro Plan DM cans. (The pouches and kibble remain, Quintus will touch neither.)

Who else is feeding DM here?

I was lucky to find some stock at a neighbouring vet and am OK for a month. I have a cat with touchy stools so I'm careful about food adventures. I did pick up m/d (both cans and kibble) to try: I know m/d has about double the carbs DM cans have, but as I'm still giving Quintus "transition food" which is a mix of the DM cans and his old NF kibble, who knows, maybe even the 13% m/d will be lower than what he is currently eating.

Is anybody feeding m/d, cans or kibble?

Note: have heard the arguments regarding prescription diets and dry food, not the topic I'm trying to bring up here.

I use a few Hill's Prescription Diet m/d kibbles to steer Mia's numbers up when she is too low. I have a bag from when she was first diagnosed. That is what the vet (who was not our vet for long) said to feed her. I came home and started researching right away and determined that I was not feeding her that. I now find it funny that what was supposed to be her food for managing diabetes is now used to raise her BG. :)

I had a couple of cans of the wet m/d in the very beginning that I gave her. She seemed to like it the first time then not so much after that.

Indeed!
Haven't yet checked the carb content of the kibble, you wouldn't happen to have it handy somewhere? I took a few samples to see if they agreed with Q's gut and might be a better thing to mix in with the wet food than the NF kibble. I gave him a little in my hand, he seemed to like it.

I buy Teasel the canned DM pate and mix it in with grocery store low carb pates. I'm in Canada and haven't heard anything about a discontinuation here - so far.

I just checked, and Amazon and Chewy both still have it available. I would call or email Purina to confirm your info. And if it's true, order as much as you can online (they will call the vet for approval of the prescription.)

Prescription? Do some places actually require a prescription for that food? Why?
I have seen it for sale at pet supply stores. Also, I just put it in my cart at Amazon and went through to the last step to submit the order and no mention of prescription.

@Kris & Teasel Same here, Purina DM still available here. What do you expect in the country where insulin was discovered?
@Critter Mom Super-Double Anti-Jinx and "punch buggy no punch back".
Switzerland? Heard they don't have much of a navy! Nice watches though.
Always good to retain a lot of useless information. (Me, not you)

When I needed prescription food for Erik, Chewy.com contacted my vet to ok it. Of course, he wouldn't eat it...
