Hi everyone, I started testing with the Freestyle meter and the vet switched me to Accu-Chek 2 weeks ago saying it's more precise. I've never got to test the difference myself until today.
The Freestyle read 312 and the Accu-Chek 390.
Would you trust the vet's recommendation as well?

We're these tests on the same blood drop? Even if that's the case it's possible to have different readings. Go with the Accu-Chek if that's what your vet favours. The take action number of 50 still applies.

Not the same exact drop but I used both meters one second after the other in the same poke.

Those numbers could be considered the same since meters are allowed a 20% variance in mid to higher range numbers. If the Freestyle read low and the Accu-Check read high, you would see that kind of difference in the readings. In lower range numbers, I doubt the difference would be as large. This is the major reason why we suggest you select a meter and stick with it because with all the variables no meter is precisely accurate but they are close enough to give you the data you need.
