Diet recommendations for pets with cancer?

Thanks for posting this Lynda. I CAN attest to the fact that grain free food will make a difference in canine lymphoma. My Harley was diagnosed with stage 3/4 Lymphoma in March. At that time, his lymph nodes were EXTREMELY swollen almost cutting off his airways. We started him on prednisone and I immediately changed him to grain free foods. The nodes went down, we rocked along without another issue for about 3 weeks. I couldn't get grain free that shopping day so went back to his 'regular' grained food. After the first 2 meals, his nodes were swollen again, he felt awful, he drank and drank and peed and peed. THAT DAY I went and found grain free - began feeding it the next day again, nodes started going down - he lived another very happy 3 months. I truly believe the reason we lost him then is that he got ahold of one of the other dogs 'grain' chewy bone and had a bad reaction to the grain. I still blame myself for even giving THEM the bone altho' they were in two very separate areas where Harley should never have gotten to them. I'm still not sure how it happened....

Again, THANK YOU!
