Diet Q - Pumpkin puree for hard stools?

I cant remember at this point how long its been, but it seems Kevin has always had harder stools. Small pellets.

I'm seeing online that (pure) pumpkin puree is a good fibre add on. Anyone tried it?

Kevin eats Friskies Greatest Hits Pate's for the last couple years, great numbers.

TIA

Also you could try MIRALAX, (0ver the counter) 1/4 tsp daily twice a day for 5 days, it works smoothly, also I use Slippery Elm Bark, also 1/4 tsp daily in one meal, just sprinkle it over the food, both are tasteless in the food, morning and night, You can get the Organic Slippery Elm Bark at Walmart.com. for more than 2-3 days of constipation or little hard ball poops as you say, I also have Lactulose, liquid form, same instructions, ( that is prescribed) I get the prescription thru my primary my insurance covers it and a big bottle, the vet gives a tiny 6 oz, and expensive, both Corky and Coco have suffered from constipation a while back, with concerns, now is just every now and then. ;) :cat::cat: P.S. I did try the Pumpkin but it did not help them, I have seen post of other members that it does work I tried fresh boiled and organic can, it did not work on them, but it does have a lot of fiber

You can also use a pinch of psyllium husk (added to wet food). We use that because we have it on hand already because it's good for humans with high cholesterol. :) I recommend adding it to the food right before you serve it, not in advance, because it absorbs water and can change the texture of the food.

I’ve given pure pumpkin a few times. Unclear if it worked or he would have went anyways…
