Did I do the right thing?

So I already posted here about Missy that he had a rabies vaccine done 2 days ago and now he has really high glucose numbers, I haven't sent this high for so long.

When I came back from my vacation and Missy was in a pet hotel then, I got sick and few days after I noticed his glucose got to the purple range, then he got the vaccine and it even more skyrocketed! I'm still sick(not corona). I wonder if he got sick because of me or if he has the flu and what do people do in this case?
I gave him 0.5 units of lantus this evening because I think 0.25 wasn't helping now. I don't know what people do when diabetics get sick and their glucose goes high like that, do they change their insulin dose or?

I'm just really worried. He wasn't eating much yesterday, today he eats more but so little still. He isn't so weak looking anymore, but still likes to be alone and doesn't want to be hold.

I’m not sure people are seeing these tags.
I am concerned he is not feeling well and not eating.
Have you checked for ketones in the urine? If not I would go out and buy a bottle of Ketostix from Walmart or a pharmacy, collect a urine sample and follow the directions on the bottle for urine. If there is more than a trace of ketones in the urine, tell their vet.
Offer food often, it is important that diabetic cats eat plenty of food.

I would also suggest getting some tests in during the PM cycle. Cats often drop lower at night and unless you test you won’t know.
How does he seem now?

He is eating now but only half of the food, usually he finishes the whole pouch of food, he eats slowly.
I have a ketones test at home, if I catch him peeing.
When I've taken PM tests they never go low, it's the same as AM for him. For now I think he is sick and that causes the spikes in his blood sugar because last time he had those kinds of numbers was months ago when his numbers wouldn't come down.

He seems to be recovering though, at least he is eating and drinking something even if it's little amounts.

It's not uncommon for cats to have a day or two of feeling "off" after a vaccination -- it's the same for humans. It's also entirely possible that your cat picked up a bug when he was being boarded. Keep an eye out and do test for ketones when you can just as a precaution.

Raising the dose looks like a good idea.

Just a suggestion -- you may want to start posting on the Lantus board. There's a great deal of expertise there.

I tested him for ketones and it was negative. I took his temperature also and it was 39.2° Celsius, don't know if it's normal or small fever.
His glucose numbers are kind of getting better, at least yesterday it looked good. His body is fighting.
