Diablo's numbers have been going down all day. His first PMPS was 240. I retested him after 20 minutes without feeding and he was at 204. Should I wait another 20 and test again? What if he just keeps dropping?
 
In a situation like this....I would retest. I usually wait about 30 minutes between test if I see a drop around food & shot time. If he keeps dropping then do not give insulin. Maybe run a test every hour or so to see how low Diablos can go on his own without insulin. If he doesn't have insulin in his system then he can't hypo.
Keep in mind food will make the BG rise & you don't want to give insulin into a food induced BG. The food BG number will wear off & if you give insulin into that number then it could cause a huge drop in the BG. Then you run the risk of Diablo hypoing.

Also keep in mind 200 is still diabetic.
